Dear Friends:
Welcome to The
Phelps School’s website. If you are
visiting us for the first time, I believe you will enjoy learning more about
our unique program. Those of you who
already belong to our community as alumni, students and parents will understand
how delighted I am to lead such a wonderful institution.
If you visited
Phelps in person, then your first impression would likely be of our safe and
bucolic campus in Chester County. While
I am proud of our convenient location and enjoy the benefits that come with our
close proximity to the bustling city of Philadelphia, I know it is far more
than the bricks and mortar that make Phelps a special place.
As you will
undoubtedly see, The Phelps School is represented by an unbelievably dedicated
and supportive faculty. Our student
population considers the staff our greatest asset. I am privileged to work with such amazing
individuals, but even more proud of the strong family relationship that is
forged between all members of this close-knit community.
Behind the talented
teachers and flexible academic program is our shared philosophy of
education.Collectively, and as
individuals, our community strives to live according to fundamental principles
which empower us intellectually, physically, and spiritually to achieve our
innate potential as human beings. Though

As articulated by our mission statement, "The Phelps
School is dedicated to a personalized education for the boy who seeks success
academically, personally, and socially…this philosophy of dedication to the
total development of each boy is accentuated by the disciplined atmosphere,
small classes, and daily tutorial support."
As we prepare for our 67th academic year, The
Phelps School continues pioneering those educational methods which facilitate
academic, personal, and social success. As a college preparatory school, we firmly believe that boys will benefit from living away from home; therefore, we aim to teach our young men to become more self-reliant and independent. Our success placing boys in college and helping them earn an acceptance to a suitable university us unquestionable.
