Financial Information





Residential Students

The basic fee for tuition, room, and board for the 2008-09 year is $32,000.


Day Students

The basic tuition fee for day students is $19,000.


Miscellaneous Charges

Additional costs for textbooks, school blazer, athletic clothing, social functions, and school trips usually run approximately $2,000 per year. These incidental costs are billed monthly.

Students who are placed in the Academic Support Program (ASP) will be billed an additional $1,000 per trimester for each ASP course.


International Students

Upon acceptance, international students must pay at least $10,000 before an I-20 will be issued. The basic fee for international students is $34,000, which includes the following:

$32,000 basic fee (tuition, room and board),
$200 processing fee,
$800 activity fee,
$1,000 deposit to cover medical/dental insurance and other fees, including allowance, travel, etc.
English as a Second Language (ESL), if required, costs $4,500 per year.

Textbooks and other incidental fees will be billed monthly.


Payment Methods

Personal check, cashier's check, wire transfer, VISA and MasterCard are acceptable forms of payment by The Phelps School.


Refund Policy

The Phelps School must contract for its faculty and other services on an annual basis. Therefore, the School has established the policy that once a boy is enrolled, he is entered for the school year. It is also agreed that no reduction or refund of fees is made for delay of entrance, failure to matriculate, suspension, absence, dismissal, or withdrawal.


Sibling Tuition Reductions

When two brothers are attending The Phelps School simultaneously, there is a twenty percent (20%) reduction for the younger boy.
