Residential Students
7-Day Boarders: $40,200 (which includes activity fee, security deposit, and technology fee).
5-Day Boarders: $36,200 (which includes activity fee, security deposit, and technology fee).
** International students will be charged an additional $2,000 to cover medical insurance.
Day Students
The basic tuition fee for day students is $21,250 (which includes the activity fee, security deposit, and technology fee).
Miscellaneous Charges
Additional costs for textbooks, athletic clothing, social functions, and school trips usually run approximately $2,000 per year. These incidental costs are billed monthly and must be paid upon receipt of the statement.
Students who are placed in the Academic Support Program (ASP) will be billed an additional $1,200 per trimester for each ASP course.
International Students
Upon acceptance, international students must pay at least $10,000 before an I-20 will be issued. The basic fee for international students is $37,500, which includes the following:
$37,500 basic fee (tuition, room and board),
$1,000 security deposit,
$1,200 activity fee,
$500 technology fee,
$2,000 deposit to cover medical/dental insurance and other fees, including travel.
English as a Second Language (ESL), if required, costs $7,000 per year.
Textbooks and other incidental fees will be billed monthly.
Payment Methods
Personal check, cashier's check, wire transfer, VISA, MasterCard and American Express are acceptable forms of payment by The Phelps School.
Refund Policy
The Phelps School must contract for its faculty and other services on an annual basis. Therefore, the School has established the policy that once a boy is enrolled, he is entered for the school year. It is also agreed that no reduction or refund of fees is made for delay of entrance, failure to matriculate, suspension, absence, dismissal, or withdrawal.
