I would like to share with you a few thoughts regarding life at Phelps for the boys residing in Lower Gains. Mr. Lilienthal and I will do our best to make the residential experience for the boys a quality and memorable time of their lives. We will try hard to ensure that no boy is left out or becomes too homesick, while striving to create a loving and caring atmosphere in their new home. We look forward to forming a “family” within our dorm and hope that the boys recognize our dedication to their needs and are willing to become a key part of that Lower Gains family.

 Activities together as a dorm will once again be a crucial element of life as a resident of Gains. With such a large and diverse international student population we hope to host an International Dinner Night in the dining hall this year where the boys can contribute and help prepare meals that represent their unique cultures. We plan to begin the year with a barbeque here on campus and then welcome spring by getting off campus for another barbeque along the Brandywine River to celebrate a successful year at Phelps.

 The Phelps School Student/Parent Handbook is an essential resource for school policy and procedure information. Please take the time to review the handbook but if something still remains unclear do not hesitate to contact the school directly or us as dorm parents.
