We would like to welcome all of the new and returning members of Hilltop, as well as their families.  We strive to create a safe, friendly and warm atmosphere in the dorm.  Many efforts are made to ease the homesickness boys may feel at first (even if they don't admit it to you).  We hope that each resident feels at home and as much a part of the Hilltop children as do our own children and dogs.

We understand the balance between helping a young man adjust to his new surroundings and allowing him to grow and develop responsibility.  Mr. Power, Mr. Postus and Mrs. Smith have worked closely together to develop a coherent, clear dorm policy which will allow the boys the structure needed to succeed, as well as the freedom to grow.  The dorm is our life, and we have a vested interest in its safety, cleanliness, structure and of course making it as fun as possible!

The best time to reach your son on weekdays is between 5:00 PM and 6:20 PM, or between 9:00 PM and 10:15 PM.

Weekend Leave
Please call and give verbal permission to one of us by the Tuesday preceding the weekend your son would like to leave campus.  A message is fine.  Please let us know: how your son will travel, when he will depart from school, and when he will return.  Send any plane, train, or bus tickets to the business office.

Responsibility
All students are responsible for their belongings.  Neither the school, nor the dorm parents can be held responsible for lost, stolen or damaged items.  We strongly recommend that expensive items be left at home.

Birthdays and Special Occasions
If you would like to do something special for your son's birthday, please let one of the dorm parents know and we will set it up for the dorm.  Some ideas: pizza, wings, hoagies, etc.  Here at Hilltop we do a lot of fun activities just within the dorm.  Barbeques, pizza parties, and game nights are a few of the things we do together.  If you have any ideas for a fun dorm night, we would love to hear from you.
