Students Attend Flyers Career Seminar
Four Phelps students attended the High School Career Seminar and Flyers Game with Mr. Kimble last Thursday.
The seminar was designed to provide students with insight as to the day-to-day operations of the sport business. Specifically, they discovered the various tasks that are performed at the Wachovia Center and learned the skills and educational requirements that are needed to work in the industry.

Since Michael Kaneff expressed his interest in broadcasting, Steve Coates spent some time with our boys before the game. They had the chance to watch a taping of Coates interviewing Flyers defenseman, Scott Hartnell. The boys also saw the main control room and saw never-before-seen episodes of his television show, "Coatsey's Corner." Finally Coates took them down to the ice and let them sit on the players bench.
