Corporate Giving (EITC)

The State of Pennsylvania has established the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program, which allows businesses to contribute a portion of their tax obligation in the form of scholarship money to deserving young people who seek an independent school education.

In order to participate in the EITC program, companies must apply to the Department of Community and Economic Development. Click here to view details and click here to download the guidelines and application.

Applications for tax credits are approved on a "first-come first-served" basis beginning July 1st of each year.

A 75% tax credit is offered to businesses which agree to support The Phelps School for one year.  A 90% tax credit is available to those willing to make the same commitment for two consecutive years.  This is a direct tax credit and not a tax deduction!  Wow!

The DCED mandates that any monies received by The Phelps School must be used for scholarships awarded to low-income Pennsylvania residents.  You can't beat the return on this type of investment.  A child's future is enhanced!

If you have any questions, or for assistance completing your application, please contact Emily Shaker in the Advancement Office at eshaker@thephelpsschool.org or 610-644-1754.
