On April 23, 2007 The Phelps School performed a successful campus-wide evacuation drill. The evacuation drill included all students, faculty and staff. Members of the Core Safety Committee and the Crisis Team organized and conducted the drill. Procedures contained in The Phelps School Emergency Procedures Manual were followed. At the conclusion of the drill, Headmaster Chris Chirieleison instituted a moment of silence for all those involved in the Virginia Tech incident. Our heartfelt sorrow goes out to all the victims, their families and fellow students.
The Phelps School believes that the safety and security of all our students and employees is of the utmost importance. We will continue to review our current emergency procedures and through training and testing, identify areas of opportunity. The Phelps School will persist in our relentless pursuit of being a leader in school safety and security.
