1. Choose a novel from your incoming grade-level, listed above.
2. Purchase a notebook to use as your Novel Journal.
3. For each 20-30 minutes you read, write a summary in the journal.
   1. Include the DATE and the PAGES/CHAPTERS for EVERY journal entry.
   2. The summary should include:

1)Setting(s) and details (time and place)

2)Characters and details

3)Plot – sequence of events

4)Opinions – positive and negative

 The NOVEL JOURNAL will count as approximately 50% of your TOTAL PRESENTATION GRADE.

 Each student will present an ORAL BOOK REPORT during the first 2 weeks of school. 

 ***Note cards for the book report will be completed in the first few days of school, as explained by your instructor. DO NOT COMPLETE THESE ON YOUR OWN.
