Phelps (4-0) handed Perkiomen its first defeat, 5-2, Thursday. The Lions struck first blood in the 26th minute on a Nick Pember screamer which was nicely set up by co-captain Sam Mamlouk. It did not take the Lions long to tally their second goal; co-captain Fransisco DeLeon connected from 20 yards out in the 29th minute to give Phelps a 2-0 lead going into halftime.
In the second half, Nick Tilley and AJ Bishop each scored for Phelps, along with DeLeon's second goal of the game. KD Adermei, Owen Tianari, and Baltasar Xavier anchored a solid defense in front of junior goal keeper Michael Hsieh, who had four saves.
