Phelps Varsity beats Solebury

"The Phelps Lions varsity team traveled to Solebury on Tuesday night for an important non-league matchup. Looking to bolster their state tournament profile the team downed the Spartans 67-62. The team was led by juniors Shakiel Humphrey, who had 24 points, and Ryan Alfred, who added 18 points off the bench. Junior Will Watts added 13 points to go with his 9 rebounds. Vernon Williams made several key defensive plays down the stretch to help the Lions secure the victory, and he finished with 5 blocks. Senior Zach Hagan led the team with 8 assists, to go along with 8 points. The Lions improved to 8-4 on the season and next take the floor Tuesday in an another non-league showdown, this time at New Beginnings
