We sadly announce that Walter Forward Austin, II, passed away Friday, November 13, 2009, at his home.
 
Walter graduated from The Phelps School in 1958, worked as a pilot for Summit Airlines and later retired as a pilot from Airborne Express.  He was also a charter boat captain out of Ocean City.
 
He is survived by his wife - Eileen, son - Robert F. Austin, and daughters - Shelly L. Austin and Cortney A. Cober, Jr.  He is also survived by two brothers - John H. "Jack" Austin and William H. Austin, and two sisters - Nancy Jane Reed and Roberta A. Brittingham.
 
Walter was a member of the Worcester Wheelman Club, Salisbury Gun Club, Ocean City Marlin Club, National Rifle Association and Chesapeake Bay Foundation.
 
A formal memorial service was held at the Tred on Avon Yacht Club in Oxford, MD on Sunday, November 15th and a second gathering was held at the Sunset Grill in Ocean City on Tuesday, November 17th.
 
In lieu of flowers, a contribution in Walter's honor may be made to the American Brain Tumor Association at www.abta.org or by phone at 1-800-886-2282.
