The Phelps School added a new Director of Athletics this summer.  Assuming the responsibility of coordinating athletic events and guiding our coaches is Mr. Todd MacFarlane.  Todd is a former professional lacrosse player who decided to move from San Diego to become the A.D. because of his passion for working with children.  He sees coaching and teaching adolescents as a way to productively give back to society – much like he did as a Marine serving our country.  After running his own business in California, Todd decided it was time to move back to the East Coast to be closer to his family and establish a new “family” at Phelps.   In addition to teaching Fitness and Health classes, Todd is also our Head Varsity Lacrosse coach.  However, Coach MacFarlane’s main interest applies more to overall conditioning than just preparing for a Lax season.  For that reason, Coach Mac has conducted several speed and conditioning work-out sessions for many of our athletes at Phelps already.  In an effort to share his knowledge with others, Coach Mac has decided to start a summer sports camp at The Phelps School this summer.
