The 2011 All Star Labor Classic, a high school basketball fundraiser sponsored by Philadelphia's Organized Labor, has named Mr. Scavitto as coach of the Suburban Boys All-Star Team. Varsity player Shawn Valentine was selected as an all-star player. This is the first time a Phelps School coach or player has been selected to the team. 

The All Star Labor Classic showcases the very best high school basketball players in the Philadelphia area in two City vs. Suburbs games while raising money for United Cerebral Palsy of Philadelphia & Vicinity. Since 1987, this event has raised 1.8 million dollars.  Selected high school athletes participating in the tournament will also receive scholarships, sponsored by Philadelphia's Organized Labor.  

Mr. Scavitto will be teaming up with West Chester Bayard Rustin Coach, Keith Cochran. The event takes place on April 3, 1:00 PM at LaSalle University's Tom Gola Arena.The Phelps School congratulates both Mr. Scavitto and Shawn!
