We are a minor affiliate of Daniel Gracie Mainline. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is not easy and it takes years to master.  You have your first few training sessions in and are just learning the basics. Things will seem awkward at first and you are going to struggle a bit as you start getting used to things.  Do your research, study videos, and get the right gear.

About BJJ

During the early 1900’s, emigrating Japanese came to Brazil and integrated with the populace, teaching Jiu Jitsu and Judo to Brazilian families. One of these families was the Gracie family.
Carlos and Helio Gracie began learning the art of Jiu Jitsu and developed
their own system of teaching and practicing it, eventually forming Gracie Jiu Jitsu. This art spread through Brazil and eventually came to America and the rest of the world, notably
during the first UFC.
Royce Gracie was an unknown fighter and the least likely in the tough
Gracie family to win against a variety of opponents, and yet he prevailed using the Jiu Jitsu techniques refined by his family to overcome bigger and stronger fighters.
